11/19/07 Holiday Cooking


First, a disclosure.  Having become vegetarian and then learned to cook, in that order, I’ve never cooked a turkey.  Still, Thanksgiving is 3 days away, and at 1pm today we’ll be talking about cooking all sorts of things, including turkey, I’m sure.  What are your favorite holiday recipes and family traditions, when it comes to eating?  Share them here and on the air today, and have a great holiday!

  1. I’m making my Grandmother’s cornbread dressing (also known as stuffing), along with other traditional (turkey, maple-whipped sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts, pecan pie) and non-traditional (pumpkin baklava) items.

  2. This thanksgiving, I am going to be a sad vegetarian who attempts to eat vegan I did absoloutly NO preparation, so I have a feeling I am going to end up with a plate of steamed veggies or something. sigh! Next year I will be better prepared!

    but they look really good.

    I’m for sure going to try a lot of her recipes, especially on the “Soups” and “Vegetables” pages. This chili looks great:
